लोक सेवा आयोग की जूनियर इंजीनियर (जेई) परीक्षा निरस्त हो सकती है। आयोग इस पर जल्द निर्णय ले सकता है, जबकि अवर अभियंता परीक्षा (एई) को क्लीन चिट मिलने की उम्मीद है।
आयोग ने एई और जेई के 901 पदों के लिए पिछले साल अप्रैल और मई में परीक्षा कराई थी। अगस्त में जेई नवंबर में एई परीक्षा का लिखित परिणाम घोषित कर दिया था। दोनों परीक्षाओं में मैरिट के आधार पर आयोग ने 4384 अभ्यर्थियों का साक्षात्कार के लिए चयन किया था। इस बीच एसआईटी जांच में जेई परीक्षा का पेपर लीक होने का खुलासा हो गया।
इस मामले में आयोग के अनुसचिव संजीव चतुर्वेदी और अनुभाग अधिकारी संजीव चौहान समेत अब तक आठ की गिरफ्तारी हो चुकी है। चतुर्वेदी और चौहान दोनों तब अति गोपन विभाग में थे और इन्होंने मिलीभगत कर पेपर नकल माफिया तक पहुंचाया। माफिया ने कई अभ्यर्थियों से मोटी रकम वसूल कर उन्हें सवाल रटवाए थे। सूत्रों ने बताया कि एसआईटी जांच में जेई परीक्षा का पेपर कई अभ्यर्थियों के हाथ लगने की आशंका है। हालांकि, अभी तक पुलिस ने किसी भी अभ्यर्थी के नाम का खुलासा नहीं किया है।
