उत्तराखंड में हर रोज औसतन 230 लोग पहाड़ से पलायन कर रहे हैं। 2018 से पहले तक यह आंकड़ा 138 था। पलायन आयोग की ताजा रिपोर्ट में इसका खुलासा हुआ है। पलायन रोकने के लिए बने पलायन आयोग के अस्तित्व में आने के बाद उत्तराखंड में पलायन की रफ्तार और तेज हो गई है। ग्राम्य विकास एवं पलायन निवारण आयोग ने इसी सप्ताह 2018 से अब तक की स्थिति पर आधारित रिपोर्ट सार्वजनिक की है। आयोग के इन्हीं आकड़ों का विस्तृत अध्ययन कर, एसडीसी फाउंडेशन ने फैक्टशीट जारी की है। फाउंडेशन के संस्थापक अनूप नौटियाल के मुताबिक उत्तराखंड में 2008 से 2018 के बीच कुल 5,02,717 लोगों ने पलायन किया। जबकि आयोग गठन के बाद 2018 से 2022 के बीच बीते चार वर्षों में ही यह आंकड़ा 3,35,841 पहुंच गया है, इसमें स्थायी और अस्थायी दोनों तरह का पलायन शामिल है। इस तरह उत्तराखंड में वार्षिक आधार पर 2008-2018 की अवधि में 50,272 लोगों की तुलना में गत चार वर्ष में सालाना औसत 83,960 लोगों ने पलायन किया। इस तरह बीते चार वर्षों के दौरान 67की बड़ी वृद्धि हुई है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार गत चार साल में राज्य के 24 और गांव पूरी तरह निर्जन हो गए हैं, इसमें सीमांत के 12 गांव भी शामिल है। इस तरह उत्तराखंड में भुतहा गांवों की संख्या 1726 पहुंच गई है। वहीं 398 गांव ऐसे हैं जहाँ लोग पलायन कर बस गए हैं।
